Formula Racing
Pre-Driving Preparations
The heat is on and the crowd is cheering. The adrenaline starts to build up in your system, and you just can't wait to lay your hands on the steering wheel. Before the hype of the race gets you too excited, however, check your vehicle first at least half an hour before you are called to the field.
The following are the important areas you should look into before hitting the race track (or the road).
Tyre – Having a deflated rubber will make it hard for you to control or steer in the right direction, especially around corners. What is more, it will make your tyre wear out faster. Likewise, having it overinflated can cause problems too. Particularly, it would be stiff and unyielding, and it will have a low footprint when in contact with the road. It can get damage more easily when running over debris and potholes.
Fuel – Depending on how long the race will take, make sure that there is sufficient amount of gas to take you to the finish line.
Oils – There should be enough of this solution to keep the brake, clutch, transmission, and steering systems easy to manoeuvre.
Water – Make it so that there is sufficient hydrating liquid for your windscreen wiper and radiator. Water is especially important to keep the battery and engine from overheating.
Mirrors – See to it that all reflective devices are properly adjusted so that you can easily see the views on your side and at the back. Doing this is important as it will also help you decide what manoeuvre is best to make on the race track and whether or not you should speed up.
Hand and Foot Brake – Safety is of utmost importance, so avoid scurrying down the road without testing the brake pedals.
These are just few some of the most important things you need to do before driving. If you want to learn more insights and information about this subject, check out the other articles featured on this website.
