Maintenance of Formula Ford Cars
The competition involving open-wheeled, single-seated vehicles has one of the quickest and shortest turnovers. Because drivers for this activity operate at break neck speeds, it is no wonder that some of them get into accidents. But these incidents can be avoided if riders can properly control and maintain their automobile. These steps are necessary to ensure that all players perform well during each circuit as well as keep them out of harm's way. This is why it is crucial for them to do periodic stops during the course of the event to check for potential damages on their contraptions. This also helps ensure that their cars do not pose any harm to its handler and to that of other contestants.
During such inspections, a group of mechanics is tasked to check for leaks, loose wires, and control functions (e.g. brakes, wheels, and clutch). If they find that any of these elements have defects, it is their job to make sure that they get repaired as soon as possible so that their team-mate can still participate in the tournament. It is also their duty to install necessary modifications to enhance the vehicle's performance and provide smoother transition. But organisers of the British Formula Ford Competition only allows a limited set of alterations to make sure that cheating doesn't occur.
The bottom line is that maintenance is important not only to help participants be on par with fellow rivals but also to keep them safe especially when they're speeding along the racetrack.
